Class 5 World Book day

Class 5 linked their World Book Day door to their current text, The Explorer.

The children have been immersed in the world of an explorer during this learning sequence, and really enjoyed bringing their classroom alive with the jungle.

Science Week

Children across school have been enjoying a focus on science this week, as they have explored all things STEM to celebrate British Science Week.

We believe that all our pupils are scientists, and on Monday they dressed as their favourite type of scientist; we have been thinking about all of the many different types of science there are, and the amazing jobs people do within the world of STEM.

Well done to all our scientists for taking part- we look forward to seeing how you you science to make a positive impact in the world in the future.

World Book Day doors

The children and teachers had lots of fun creating WBD doors last week. There were lots of different designs, all linking to books and stories the children know and love.

There was Bunny vs Monkey, The Explorer, The Odd Fish, Where’s Wally and a collaboration of the children’s thoughts and feelings.

The Class 1 door (The Odd Fish) was chosen as the winning door in school, with Class 2 at St Lawrence being the winner across the Federation.

Well done to everyone involved in creating these lovely celebrations of stories.

World Book Day Door

Class 2 got lost in Wally’s world for their WBD design!

Can you find any of the Class 2 children hiding with Wally?

World Book Day Door

Class 1 are really proud of their WBD door, thinking about the plastic in the oceans and the impact on sea life.

Their door design links to a text they’ve been reading, The Odd Fish. Why don’t you ask them about the story and see what they can remember?

World Book Day Door

Class 4 decided to theme their door with one of their favourite books of the moment- Bunny vs Monkey!

The children worked hard to think of ideas to bring their favourite characters to life on the door, and were pleased to enjoy a day full of literature and books last week.

Well done, Class 4.

Federation Choir Rehearsal

On Friday morning, the choir from St Lawrence school came over to Tibberton for a rehearsal ahead of our concert at the Royal Albert Hall in July!

The children worked hard with the staff from Armonico Consort, and sounded beautiful together. Rehearsals will continue with staff at the schools, and we are hoping for another visit from the experts before the summer.

We look forward to sharing the choir’s work with you either in London, or via a recording if you are unable to make it.

Well done to all of the children (and staff) involved.

Girls’ Football

Both schools competed brilliantly in the Telford Schools Football Competition with great effort, teamwork and sportsmanship.

St Lawrence finished a very valiant 7th and Tibberton played amazingly well to finish in 3rd place with a bronze medal.

Well done everyone; we are very proud of you.

Lent

As we make our way through the special time of Lent, we wanted to share an approach you could try instead of giving something up.

Why not work as a family to try new things, or to do things for others? This way, we can have a positive impact on our communities, and enjoy the good feeling of making a difference.

Half Term

We are at the end of our short Spring 1 half term.

Thank you for your support and partnership over the last half term. We wish you all a happy and fun half term, and look forward to hearing about all the children’s adventures when they return to school on Tuesday 20th March.

Keep praying for some better weather!
