As a federation of schools, we are invested in supporting the positive mental health of our pupils, staff and parent community. We believe that mental health is as important as physical health, and that it needs to be treated with kindness and exercised regularly.
Some people maintain positive mental health fairly easily and are aware of how to support themselves, for example by getting out in fresh air, taking part in exercise, or doing some colouring.
We have a graduated approach to mental health so that we are able to support, or signpost support, dependent on individual need. More details can be obtained from the school office.
Our trained and qualified Mental Health First Aider is Mrs Nash. Please contact her via the school office if you would like further information regarding mental health support, or if you would like to access support. Mrs Osborne is also undergoing training as a Mental Health First Aider, and would be happy to also offer support.
A great place to start if you are looking for ways to support your child’s mental health at home is Place2be. They have easy to access videos and blogs that can offer advice and support:

We understand that a dysregulated, unhappy child will not be ready to learn. Our behaviour policy and system operates in an accepting ethos, where staff will aim to support the SEMH needs of the child (or adult) and provide the resources and space to deal with the issue presenting at the time.
