Visitors from Bantock House

This morning Key stage 1 children enjoyed a visit from two artists from Bantock House in Wolverhampton.

Sam and Benny brought lots of things from the toy museum to share with us. We learnt about the Bantock family, what their children would have played with and the clothes they would have worn. Sam told us about the servants and what their children would have with compared to the Bantock children. She shared some really old dolls and toys with us and we compared the materials they were made of depending how old they were. Benny helped us to design and make an old-fashioned peg doll which was great fun.

We had a fantastic time learning and making today.

During half term both Bantock House and Wolverhampton Art Gallery have activities organised for children to enjoy. Bantock House is free entry and well worth a visit but the artists advised us to check the opening hours before arriving as these vary from day to day.
