Doughnut Day

On Monday 16th December the whole school held ‘Doughnut Day’. We used the idea of a ring doughnut 🍩 and in Reception we described it as being all the things we love, such as our family and friends, the things we like to do and the places we like to go. The middle of the doughnut is the space that God fills. God can fill the hole for people in many different ways. Some people like to meditate to feel connected to God. Some people are connected most to God when they read or when they create something. Some people feel most connected to God when they are surrounded by nature. We created our own heart frames to frame what we loved about being surrounded by nature. And of course we had to eat a doughnut too!

World Book Day Door

Class 1 are really proud of their WBD door, thinking about the plastic in the oceans and the impact on sea life.

Their door design links to a text they’ve been reading, The Odd Fish. Why don’t you ask them about the story and see what they can remember?

Chinese New Year

Vanessa came to school to talk to us about Chinese New Year.
This year is the year of the dragon.
We did our own dragon parade!
Everybody clapped and cheered as we went by.
It was so much fun!
Then we painted our own dragon plate.
We chose our own colours and carefully painted our plates.

We love to read!

We made our own reading dens.
We got warm and cosy and found our favourite stories to read.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

We made our own Bear Hunt scene! Can you see the big, dark forest and the deep, cold river?
