IWM visit.

Children from Class 4 and 5 visited the Imperial War Museum to consolidate our learning of World War 1. We had a digitally-led experience where children were able to develop historical inquiry skills to question, consider, debate and evaluate primary resources, while also gaining a deeper understanding about the impact of war and conflicts on people’s lives in the past, and its relevance in society today.

Residential.

All year 5 and 6 children had the opportunity to go on a residential to Condover Hall. The week was filled with fun, laughter, adventures, dancing and getting muddy!

Black History Month Celebrations

To celebrate Black History Month, we practiced African drumming, which was a fantastic experience for all children. All children were able to join in and have a go themselves.

Winning shots

Year 5s have had a wet but a wonderful morning taking photographs of the Chetwynd Deer park’s grounds. All children will enter one photo at The Newport Show.

Visit to the local Mosque.

Mental Health Week

This week we celebrated Mental Health Week. This year the theme is ‘moving more for mental health’. We took part in whole school movement, decorated our classroom in green bunting, took our learning outside, danced and sung our hearts out but most importantly focused on feeling happy and relaxed.

Some examples of our Frida Kahlo inspired self portraits. Fantastic effort from all the children!
